Donato Quirino's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Célio Gomes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 22nd minute of play. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Donato Quirino couldn't finish the play. Célio Gomes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Donato Quirino in the 56th minute of play. With a little luck, Celtas FC's Fritz Granberg got control of the ball when Adriano Bertassi tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Donato Quirino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The Celtas FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Caibros were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
