After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Dorival Vieira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Joffre's supporters rose to their feet, but Dorival Vieira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. João Paulo da Cunha breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dorival Vieira to make the kick off. In the 56th minute, Wanderson de Amorim hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Mané Fernandes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 61 played minutes Joffre got a freekick which was hit by Ronaldinho do Vale. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 62nd minute of the game. One of Joffre:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Miguelito EC:s goal. Nilson Queirós's late challenge caught a Joffre's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nilson Queirós helped the player get up and apologised. After 97 played minutes Miguelito EC got a freekick which was hit by Nilson Queirós.
