In the 9th minute, Pedro Luís Paulista left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Arraia fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. After 12 minutes of play, Arraia's Fred Paraense made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. César Saraiva was left in no man's land by his defense there! 17 minutes into the game, Arraia's Pedro Luís Paulista nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. César Saraiva made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. Dinei Zilles's late challenge caught a Itamuri's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dinei Zilles helped the player get up and apologised. Dinei Zilles kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. In the 22nd minute, a hard, long distance shot from Dráusio Penha hit the top of the crossbar and flew over the goal. A collision led to Itamuri getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Amadeu Goiano hit a great ball. César Saraiva took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pedro Luís Paulista, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. César Saraiva came out of the goal in the 27th minute to try and stop a shot by Arraia's Pedro Luís Paulista. But to his dismay, Pedro Luís Paulista quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. Gugu Cardozo hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. César Saraiva stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Pedro Luís Paulista's shot from short distance in the 40th minute. César Saraiva took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pedro Luís Paulista, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-4.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Pedro Luís Paulista to make the kick off. After 52 played minutes Itamuri got a freekick which was hit by Gugu Cardozo. César Saraiva acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 53rd minute, took the ball on the long shot from Dráusio Penha. Emílio Ferreira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anselmo Brodel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pedro Luís Paulista could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 56th minute of the match, but César Saraiva made a huge save. After 58 minutes, Fernão Lara mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Itamuri and the Arraia players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 60th match minute, Itamuri was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gugu Cardozo to maneuver through the defense. In the 68th minute, Arraia's Pedro Luís Paulista ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind César Saraiva. César Saraiva yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-5. A collision led to Arraia getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Fred Paraense hit a great ball. The supporters of Itamuri booed when Arraia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dinei Zilles didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 77th minute Anselmo Brodel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emílio Ferreira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 79 minutes into the match, Arraia's goal looked a bit too open when Patrick Seco came free, but Emílio Ferreira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Emílio Ferreira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anselmo Brodel in the 80th minute of the match. Mari Pinheiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without César Saraiva having to interfere. Pedro Luís Paulista recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Itamuri's Gugu Cardozo got his second yellow card of the match in the 88th minute. The referee ordered Gugu Cardozo off the ground. After a rather tough play, Itamuri's Gugu Cardozo got a free kick in the 89th minute. Pedro Luís Paulista blasted a shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without César Saraiva having to make a save. A collision led to Arraia getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Pau Cariton hit a great ball. Itamuri's Eusébio Marques got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Patrick Seco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Emílio Ferreira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Arraia's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
