EC Pasta Preta's Bernardo Carioca got a good chance for a goal in the 9th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Carlos Eduardo Berger blasted a shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Agenor Monteiro having to make a save. In the 28th match minute, C E Aimoré was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edinho Negri to maneuver through the defense. In the 29th minute the ball was on its way in behind C E Aimoré's goalkeeper Agenor Monteiro, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 1-0 became the score in the 38th minute when Bernardo Carioca elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. The attack was good, but when Carlos Eduardo Berger in the 47th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Dedê Chaves was the one to do the kick off. In the 54th minute Bernardo Carioca shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Agenor Monteiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Carlos Eduardo Berger in the 56th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Agenor Monteiro prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Bernardo Carioca fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Agenor Monteiro having to interfere. In the 60th minute, Bernardo Carioca ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Agenor Monteiro was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. The EC Pasta Preta fans' excitement grew in the 63rd match minute when EC Pasta Preta's Bernardo Carioca looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 66th minute, Erasmo Araújo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Agenor Monteiro was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. EC Pasta Preta's Bernardo Carioca got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Bernardo Carioca sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bernardo Carioca's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Agenor Monteiro read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 86th minute of play. After a rather tough play, C E Aimoré's Américo Koehler got a free kick in the 94th minute. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. EC Pasta Preta had played much better football throughout.
