After having played for 13 minutes, Caio Alcântara managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Prado F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Caio Alcântara was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Prado F.C. getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Cristian Vidal hit a great ball. César Braga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Joel da Costa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gilberto Meirelles blasted a shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Joel da Costa having to make a save. In the 38th minute César Braga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joel da Costa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Joel da Costa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gilberto Meirelles, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Caio Alcântara stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 56 minutes into the game, Cristian Vidal cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gilberto Meirelles in the 84th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Joel da Costa saved Prado F.C. from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gilberto Meirelles in the 91st minute of play forced Prado F.C.'s goalkeeper Joel da Costa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Meriti SS's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
