Gonçalo de Amorim made an important save on a dangerous shot by Fellipe Melo in the 14th minute. After 20 played minutes GOUVÊAS FC got a freekick which was hit by Antônio Saldanha. Marco Breckenfeld recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for José Carlos Travassos to strike the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Alvareda getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Fernando Jacinto hit a great ball. 61 minutes into the game, José Carlos Travassos recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Haroldo Bittencourt. José Carlos Travassos showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. When Gilberto Leão came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the GOUVÊAS FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gilberto Leão couldn't finish the play. Fellipe Melo charged in rather forcefully in the 71st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rui Bueno in the 74th minute of play forced GOUVÊAS FC's goalkeeper Gonçalo de Amorim to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gonçalo de Amorim took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rui Bueno, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 81 played minutes, GOUVÊAS FC's Falcão Sampaio shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Haroldo Bittencourt came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in GOUVÊAS FC reached it. Rui Bueno sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Fellipe Melo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Alvareda's supporters rose to their feet, but Fellipe Melo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gonçalo de Amorim breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. José Carlos Travassos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 95 minutes, Valdo Branco mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Alvareda and the GOUVÊAS FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 95 played minutes Alvareda got a freekick which was hit by Valdo Branco. The Alvareda supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching GOUVÊAS FC's performance. The match ended with a win for GOUVÊAS FC.
