Décio Paes made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Romeu Barbosa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jorginho Sampaio having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Vianopolis's zone, Angelo Ramalho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jorginho Sampaio came out of the goal and Angelo Ramalho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adrianinho Lopez in the 41st minute of play forced Urussuhy's goalkeeper Décio Paes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Vito da Silva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Elivélton Andrade's late challenge caught a Vianopolis's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Elivélton Andrade helped the player get up and apologised. In the 49th minute, Elivélton Andrade hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Adrianinho Lopez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Carlos Alberto Queiroz was the one to do the kick off. After having played for 68 minutes, Adrianinho Lopez managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vianopolis's supporters crossed their fingers, but Adrianinho Lopez was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 72nd minute, Romeu Barbosa fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Jorginho Sampaio, passed just outside the right post. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Adrianinho Lopez in the 74th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Décio Paes saved Urussuhy from getting behind. Carlos Alberto Queiroz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Jorginho Sampaio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Urussuhy's Décio Paes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adrianinho Lopez in the 78th minute of play. 86 minutes into the match, Urussuhy's goal looked a bit too open when Adrianinho Lopez came free, but Décio Paes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Urussuhy defense, Adrianinho Lopez kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Décio Paes. The Urussuhy fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Décio Paes should have stopped the shot. Adrianinho Lopez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Décio Paes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Angelo Ramalho fell near the penalty area in the 95th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Urussuhy's protests and gave Angelo Ramalho a yellow card for diving instead. Angelo Ramalho kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Vianopolis fully deserved thier win.
