Paulinho Paes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jarbas Salgado in the 3rd minute of play. In the 7th minute, Jarbas Salgado got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 8 minutes into the game, Hélio Costa cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Paulinho Paes was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Fernandão Souto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Benjamin Souto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jarbas Salgado in the 18th minute of play forced Preta's goalkeeper Paulinho Paes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 1-1 became the score in the 23rd minute when Benjamin Souto elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. In the 26th minute, Benjamin Souto made a precise shot to the right of Fernandão Souto. Vizinhança Futebol Clube's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. After 40 minutes of play, Preta's Caetano Pernambucano made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Fernandão Souto was left in no man's land by his defense there! With a little luck, Preta's Paulinho Paes got control of the ball when Hélio Costa tried to sneak it across the goal line. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-3.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jarbas Salgado was the one to do the kick off. Preta's Paulinho Paes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jarbas Salgado in the 51st minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Vizinhança Futebol Clube's zone, Benjamin Souto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fernandão Souto came out of the goal and Benjamin Souto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 57 minutes into the game, Preta's Caetano Pernambucano nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Fernandão Souto made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-4. After 60 minutes, Caetano Pernambucano mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Preta and the Vizinhança Futebol Clube players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Preta's Caetano Pernambucano got a free kick in the 60th minute. Paulinho Paes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hélio Costa, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. Fernandão Souto stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Benjamin Souto's shot from short distance in the 65th minute. Paulinho Paes came out of the goal in the 76th minute to try and stop a shot by Vizinhança Futebol Clube's Hélio Costa. But to his dismay, Hélio Costa quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-4. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by William Toscano during the 82nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Vizinhança Futebol Clube's William Toscano got a free kick in the 82nd minute. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Preta had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
