Allan Pontes charged in rather forcefully in the 26th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Allan Pontes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Armando Gomes made the kick off in the second half. The referee gave Marcolandia a penalty, 54 minutes into the game. After having played for 100 minutes, Donato Montenegro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Marcolandia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Donato Montenegro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Surubi's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
