Cleiton Rosa's late challenge caught a LEGIONÁRIOS F.C's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cleiton Rosa helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of LEGIONÁRIOS F.C booed when Alpinino was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cleiton Rosa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cleiton Rosa in the 20th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Júnior Quintal prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Steve Cornic had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 25 minutes into the match, Alpinino's goal looked a bit too open when Túlio Marinho came free, but Ademar Lopes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ademar Lopes was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Steve Cornic showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 26 minute of play. Ademar Lopes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Steve Cornic in the 29th minute of play. When Cleiton Rosa was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 31 minutes had been played. Ademar Lopes made an important save on a dangerous shot by Steve Cornic in the 34th minute. Brant Raines sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ademar Lopes made a fantastic save in the 37th minute, when Steve Cornic sent off a good shot on target. 38 minutes into the match, LEGIONÁRIOS F.C's Brant Raines sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ademar Lopes narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Ademar Lopes made a fantastic save in the 39th minute, when Czeslaw Sitko sent off a good shot on target. 43 minutes into the match, Serginho Mangueira had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Júnior Quintal. LEGIONÁRIOS F.C's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Serginho Mangueira was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

In the 58th minute, Steve Cornic got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Túlio Marinho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Ademar Lopes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 74 played minutes LEGIONÁRIOS F.C got a freekick which was hit by Steve Cornic. 77 minutes into the game, Baltazar Rodrigues was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Alpinino's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave LEGIONÁRIOS F.C the free kick. A collision led to Alpinino getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Baltazar Rodrigues hit a great ball. In the 78th match minute, LEGIONÁRIOS F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luís Catarinense to maneuver through the defense. Benjamim Mazza was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 79th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Ademar Lopes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Túlio Marinho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 82nd minute, Brant Raines got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 84 minutes, Steve Cornic managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. LEGIONÁRIOS F.C's supporters crossed their fingers, but Steve Cornic was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Steve Cornic came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the LEGIONÁRIOS F.C fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Steve Cornic couldn't finish the play. Czeslaw Sitko received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Ademar Lopes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the referee ended the match the LEGIONÁRIOS F.C players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
