Montese AD's Claudinho Silveira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paulo Pinho in the 4th minute of play. Gilvan Simões struck a weak shot in the 6th minute. Oscar Urbano didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Montese AD. Júlio Abraão hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. In the 15th minute, Paulo Pinho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Montese AD's Claudinho Silveira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paulo Pinho in the 17th minute of play. Oséas de Souza recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Claudinho Silveira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paulo Pinho, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. Oscar Urbano came out of the goal in the 24th minute to try and stop a shot by Montese AD's Oséas de Souza. But to his dismay, Oséas de Souza quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Toninho Melo's late challenge caught a Jaboatao EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Toninho Melo helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Jaboatao EC booed when Montese AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Toninho Melo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Claudinho Silveira made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sílvio Campidelis in the 33rd minute. Júlio Abraão charged in rather forcefully in the 34th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Júlio Abraão the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Montese AD getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Júlio Abraão hit a great ball. In the 36th minute, Paulo Pinho reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Claudinho Silveira. The goal made the score 1-1. Luiz Gustavo Schmidt kicked well hit freekick during the 48th minute of the match. After recieving a nice pass, Montese AD's Sandrinho Braga tried to score from far away in the 49th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Oséas de Souza to make the kick off. Sílvio Campidelis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Claudinho Silveira having to interfere. Júlio Abraão hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. Claudinho Silveira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paulo Pinho in the 59th minute of the match. Cafu Romero charged in rather forcefully in the 61st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cafu Romero the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Cafu Romero kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. Sílvio Campidelis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Claudinho Silveira having to interfere. Claudinho Silveira came out of the goal in the 66th minute to try and stop a shot by Jaboatao EC's Sílvio Campidelis. But to his dismay, Sílvio Campidelis quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. In the 69th minute, Sílvio Campidelis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 74 minutes into the game, Sílvio Campidelis cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Claudinho Silveira was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Hélder Vargas hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 88th minute, Gilvan Simões managed to get in a good position for a shot. Montese AD's supporters rose to their feet, but Gilvan Simões was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Oscar Urbano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Sílvio Campidelis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Claudinho Silveira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Claudinho Silveira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paulo Pinho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
