José Carlos Lopez's late challenge caught a Pro Vercelli's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Luís Fabiano Cavalcante thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Angelo Hoffmann, a very annoying self made goal in the 49th minute which led to 1-4. After the first half Pro Vercelli were leading 1-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Douglas Guerra managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pro Vercelli's supporters rose to their feet, but Douglas Guerra was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Angelo Hoffmann breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Angelo Hoffmann came out of the goal in the 61st minute to try and stop a shot by Pro Vercelli's Douglas Guerra. But to his dismay, Douglas Guerra quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-5. After 64 played minutes Joanisdorf SC got a freekick which was hit by Giovani Travassos. Cássio Pontes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Claudinho Brodel in the 67th minute of play. In the 78th minute, Caco Breckenfeld hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 81st minute Guilherme Meira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cássio Pontes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Douglas Guerra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Douglas Guerra fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Angelo Hoffmann having to interfere. A collision led to Joanisdorf SC getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Giovani Travassos hit a great ball. 90 minutes into the match, Claudinho Brodel notched a goal, 2-6, to the right of Pro Vercelli's Cássio Pontes. Cássio Pontes was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 97th match minute, Pro Vercelli was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Claudinho Goiano to maneuver through the defense. When the match was over Pro Vercelli could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Joanisdorf SC throughout the match.
