Varginha F.C.'s Bebeto de Queirós played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Agenor Rossi in the 4th minute of play. In the 11th minute Custódio Alvarenga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bebeto de Queirós saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 12 minutes, Pedro Luís Queiroz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pardinho's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pedro Luís Queiroz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 15th minute Pedro Luís Queiroz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bebeto de Queirós saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the last second Raí Meira throw himself and got hold of the ball when Oscar Penha in the 18thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. After some careless play in the Varginha F.C. defense, Agenor Rossi kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bebeto de Queirós. The Varginha F.C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bebeto de Queirós should have stopped the shot. In the 23rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Varginha F.C.'s goalkeeper Bebeto de Queirós, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Bebeto de Queirós didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Agenor Rossi went, in the 28th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Mateus Sampaio's late challenge caught a Varginha F.C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mateus Sampaio helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Varginha F.C. booed when Pardinho was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mateus Sampaio didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Varginha F.C.'s zone, Pedro Luís Queiroz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bebeto de Queirós came out of the goal and Pedro Luís Queiroz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Varginha F.C. players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Pardinho were winning 0-2.

Pedro Luís Queiroz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 63rd play minute Pedro Luís Queiroz came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Bebeto de Queirós. 0-3. After 68 played minutes Pardinho got a freekick which was hit by Eliézer Brasil. An unexpectedly hard shot by Noel Hames in the 69th minute of play forced Pardinho's goalkeeper Raí Meira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 70 minutes into the match, Pardinho's goal looked a bit too open when Oscar Penha came free, but Raí Meira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 78 played minutes Varginha F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Tomé Braga. Agenor Rossi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bebeto de Queirós having to interfere. Agenor Rossi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Agenor Rossi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 96 played minutes Varginha F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Oscar Penha. When the match was over Pardinho could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Varginha F.C. throughout the match.
