After 3 played minutes Caipira got a freekick which was hit by Osvaldinho Moreira. Gilson Vinhas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Mathias Corrêa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 7 minutes, Rui de Barros managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Coceira FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rui de Barros was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 8 played minutes Caipira got a freekick which was hit by Claudinei Dias. The supporters of Coceira FC booed when Caipira was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Claudinei Dias didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Coceira FC getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Sandro Furtado hit a great ball. Mathias Corrêa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gilson Vinhas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A hard shot 20 in the game by Rui de Barros from a close distance when the talented Mathias Corrêa managed to make a qualified save. Caipira's players were relieved. In the 24th minute, Orlando Souza got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience was convinced that Gilson Vinhas's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mathias Corrêa was relentless in the 25th minute of the game. Caipira's Osvaldinho Moreira got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Caipira's João Francisco Cordeiro got a free kick in the 36th minute. Coceira FC's Rui de Barros got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Mathias Corrêa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rui de Barros, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Osvaldinho Moreira stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Gilson Vinhas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The supporters of Coceira FC booed when Caipira was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. João Francisco Cordeiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 64th minute Gilson Vinhas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mathias Corrêa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 68thth minute of the game Gilson Vinhas who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Caipira's Mathias Corrêa was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Raí Alagoano was out of position in the 75 minute of play, and Osvaldinho Moreira capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Osvaldinho Moreira really showed his touch with that goal: 2-1. 78 minutes into the game, Coceira FC's Gilson Vinhas nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Mathias Corrêa made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. When Coceira FC's Rui de Barros in the 82nd minute got a chance for a shot 82nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Caipira's goalie prevented a goal. After 85 minutes of play, Coceira FC's Gilson Vinhas made it 4-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Mathias Corrêa was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 87th minute, Gilson Vinhas left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Coceira FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-1. In the 93rd minute, Rui de Barros ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mathias Corrêa was frozen by the shot and now it was 6-1. There was no doubt that Coceira FC were the better team. Coceira FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
