The audience thought a goal was coming when Eliézer Saraiva got free with Ricardinho Quirino in the 16th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a little luck, União Campograndense's Ricardinho Quirino got control of the ball when Eliézer Saraiva tried to sneak it across the goal line. Eliézer Saraiva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ricardinho Quirino having to interfere. 30 minutes into the match, União Campograndense's goal looked a bit too open when César Toledo came free, but Ricardinho Quirino reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 33 minutes, Luiz Fábio Gomes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the União Campograndense and the Dinamo Itajaí players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 33 played minutes União Campograndense got a freekick which was hit by Luiz Fábio Gomes. Vivaldo de Almeida kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Dinamo Itajaí's Wilian Recife got a free kick in the 46th minute.

The wind increased when José Dias made the kick off in the second half. Manoel Macedo succeeded in the game's 52nd minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-0. The supporters of Dinamo Itajaí booed when União Campograndense was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wellington Abraão didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dinamo Itajaí's César Toledo got a good chance for a goal in the 65th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The União Campograndense fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ricardinho Quirino should have stopped the shot. César Toledo took the ball and in the 82 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ricardinho Quirino. Ricardinho Quirino dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-1. União Campograndense's Ricardinho Quirino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eliézer Saraiva in the 91st minute of play. After a rather tough play, Dinamo Itajaí's Manoel Macedo got a free kick in the 92nd minute. After having played for 94 minutes, Waldir Baptista managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. União Campograndense's supporters crossed their fingers, but Waldir Baptista was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Dinamo Itajaí fully deserved thier win.
