Elivélton Lopez might have been able to make a better finish in the 9th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Magno Pires. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Elivélton Lopez ran back to his position shaking his head. Nando Veiga hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. In the 13th minute Victor Galvão shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Enio Queiroz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 14 minutes into the match, Tafu's goal looked a bit too open when Jeremias Moraes came free, but Enio Queiroz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Enio Queiroz came out of the goal in the 18th minute to try and stop a shot by Alvaro's Patrick Breckenfeld. But to his dismay, Patrick Breckenfeld quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. When Elivélton Lopez came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Tafu fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Elivélton Lopez couldn't finish the play. Enio Queiroz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Roberto Seco in the 30th minute. Jeremias Moraes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Enio Queiroz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nuno Toscano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Guilherme Corrêa hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. In the 38th minute, Victor Galvão sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Tafu's Enio Queiroz didn't even have to move. Jeremias Moraes's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Enio Queiroz firmly grabbed it by the left post. With a little luck, Tafu's Enio Queiroz got control of the ball when Jeremias Moraes tried to sneak it across the goal line. Alvaro's Nuno Toscano got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Nuno Toscano to strike the kick off in the second half. Jeremias Moraes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Enio Queiroz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tafu's Enio Queiroz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jeremias Moraes in the 54th minute of play. In the 54th minute, Tafu's Rubens Viana seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Rubens Viana the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Tafu protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Rubens Viana had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 54th minute of the game. One of Tafu:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Alvaro:s goal. The referee gave Alvaro a penalty, 56 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Victor Galvão, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Tafu's Enio Queiroz. 2-0. Dirk Sijmonds received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Magno Pires tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nuno Toscano in the 64th minute of play forced Tafu's goalkeeper Enio Queiroz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Tafu getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Patryk Olender hit a great ball. Jeremias Moraes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jeremias Moraes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Júlio Pena struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Magno Pires didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tafu. Roberto Seco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Enio Queiroz having to interfere. Enio Queiroz came out of the goal in the 84th minute to try and stop a shot by Alvaro's Jeremias Moraes. But to his dismay, Jeremias Moraes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. If Júlio Pena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Patryk Olender sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Aílton Cardozo charged in rather forcefully in the 93rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Aílton Cardozo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 97th minute the ball was on its way in behind Tafu's goalkeeper Enio Queiroz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. For all the effort they put into the match, the Tafu players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Alvaro.
