Albertinho Marinho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hernani Sá received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Frank da Costa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 7 minutes into the match, Candumba's goal looked a bit too open when Oscar Vides came free, but Frank da Costa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match clock showed 10 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Hernani Sá sped through Candumba's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Frank da Costa. After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, José Paulo Pena managed to get in a good position for a shot. Malu SS's supporters rose to their feet, but José Paulo Pena was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Frank da Costa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Frank da Costa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Oscar Vides, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. José Paulo Pena struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Frank da Costa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Malu SS. 27 minutes into the game, Albertinho Marinho was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Candumba's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Malu SS the free kick. Albertinho Marinho kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. 30 minutes into the match, Candumba's goal looked a bit too open when Sandro Lira came free, but Frank da Costa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 32 minutes into the game, Malu SS's José Paulo Pena nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Frank da Costa made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. Frank da Costa came out of the goal in the 35th minute to try and stop a shot by Malu SS's Oscar Vides. But to his dismay, Oscar Vides quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. 39 minutes into the game, Oscar Vides cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-5. Frank da Costa was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The supporters of Malu SS booed when Candumba was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Albertinho Marinho didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hernani Sá in the 43rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Frank da Costa saved Candumba from getting behind. The corner led Malu SS's Dadá Paranaense to fire away a dangerous shot which Frank da Costa despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Frank da Costa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dadá Paranaense, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-5 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Albertinho Marinho made the kick off in the second half. In the 56th minute, Candumba's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Oscar Vides fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. 61 minutes into the match, Candumba's goal looked a bit too open when Hernani Sá came free, but Frank da Costa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by José Paulo Pena in the 63rd minute of play forced Candumba's goalkeeper Frank da Costa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Oscar Vides sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 67 minutes into the match, Candumba's goalkeeper Frank da Costa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hernani Sá. The audience thought a goal was coming when Oscar Vides got free with Frank da Costa in the 68th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With his leg Frank da Costa managed to avoid a goal in the 71stth minute, when Malu SS's Hernani Sá fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Malu SS's Arnaldo Passos got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. José Paulo Pena was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 81st minute. Malu SS's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Hernani Sá in the 81stth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Frank da Costa, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Frank da Costa stood somewhat misplaced when Hernani Sá came free in front of goal and shot 0-7 to the left of him in the 81 minute. 85 minutes into the match, Malu SS's Oscar Vides sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Frank da Costa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 91 played minutes Candumba got a freekick which was hit by José Carlos do Vale. Malu SS's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
