Spectators: 6663 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1663, VIP seats: 0) Itaju's Gilson Mandrak started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4th minute, Orlando Veloso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Guapiassu AD's Egídio Breckenfeld got a free kick in the 5th minute. Gilson Mandrak received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Haroldo de Carvalho came out and tried to block the shot, but Gilson Mandrak slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 8th minute. If Natã Paranaense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Haroldo de Carvalho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gilson Mandrak in the 21st minute of play. Charles Melo scored 2-0 in the 22nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Haroldo de Carvalho, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Haroldo de Carvalho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gilson Mandrak in the 30th minute of the match. Walmir Pinheiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Natã Paranaense, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. After having played for 35 minutes, Vânderson Lopes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Guapiassu AD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vânderson Lopes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 38 minutes into the match, Itaju's goal looked a bit too open when Natã Paranaense came free, but Walmir Pinheiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Natã Paranaense blasted a shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Walmir Pinheiro having to make a save. Charles Melo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Haroldo de Carvalho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Vânderson Lopes made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Charles Melo in the 55th minute of play forced Guapiassu AD's goalkeeper Haroldo de Carvalho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vânderson Lopes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Walmir Pinheiro having to interfere. Gilson Mandrak took the ball and in the 58 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Haroldo de Carvalho. Haroldo de Carvalho dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. Gilson Mandrak sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Charles Melo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Haroldo de Carvalho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 77th match minute, Guapiassu AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Egídio Breckenfeld to maneuver through the defense. 78 minutes into the game, Gilson Mandrak cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Haroldo de Carvalho was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Charles Melo struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Haroldo de Carvalho didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Itaju. When the match clock showed 94 minutes, the score became 5-0 when Gilson Mandrak sped through Guapiassu AD's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Haroldo de Carvalho. Itaju's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
