Paulo Renato Zonta could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 4th minute of the match, but Sidney Matorin made a huge save. Butineiros's Sidney Matorin proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 5th minute of the match, managed to save Butineiros from getting a goal against them. When Válter Custódio fell near the penalty area in the 6th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Butineiros's protests and gave Válter Custódio a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Bacury SS booed when Butineiros was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Válter Custódio didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Paulo Renato Zonta got free with Sidney Matorin in the 8th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Sidney Matorin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dito Paraíba, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vicente Araújo in the 17th minute of play forced Bacury SS's goalkeeper Ciro França to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Aírton Siqueira hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Dito Paraíba was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 25th minute. Bacury SS's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. If Samuel Vides had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 38th minute Dito Paraíba shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sidney Matorin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sidney Matorin stood somewhat misplaced when Dito Paraíba came free in front of goal and shot 1-0 to the left of him in the 40 minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dito Paraíba made a kick off. Sidney Matorin stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dito Paraíba's shot from short distance in the 56th minute. Válter Custódio got his second yellow card in the match during the 56th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Válter Custódio hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. The Bacury SS fans' excitement grew in the 59th match minute when Bacury SS's Paulo Renato Zonta looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Bacury SS's Paulo Renato Zonta got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Bacury SS's Dito Paraíba in the 68th minute got a chance for a shot 68th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. After having played for 87 minutes, Vicente Araújo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Butineiros's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vicente Araújo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 90 minutes into the match, Butineiros's goal looked a bit too open when Paulo Renato Zonta came free, but Sidney Matorin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paulo Renato Zonta in the 96th minute of play forced Butineiros's goalkeeper Sidney Matorin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 97th minute Dito Paraíba shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sidney Matorin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Bacury SS fans cheered their team off the field, for while Butineiros had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
