Giovani EC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nildo Tróia was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. Jardel Botelho received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Conrado Lima came out and tried to block the shot, but Jardel Botelho slotted it home off the left post making it 2-3 in the 89th minute. Luciano Ciceron who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 94thth minute tested the skills of Conrado Lima when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Jardel Botelho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Giovani EC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
