Codozinho FC's Denílson Pinheiro managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Samuca Linhares in the 18 minute of the game. Denílson Pinheiro blasted a shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Belchior Favoretto having to make a save. The supporters of Codozinho FC booed when Paraguaçú EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. César de Godoy didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 22 minutes, Jeferson Barral managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. After a defensive mix-up in Codozinho FC's zone, Rafinha Secco stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Chico Romero came out of the goal and Rafinha Secco tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rodrigo Sousa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Belchior Favoretto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The audience was convinced that Douglas Furtado's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Belchior Favoretto was relentless in the 98th minute of the game.
