Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Sandro Faria took the kick off in the first half of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Durvalino Mendes in the 5th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jarbas de Alcântara saved Engenho LD from getting behind. After 6 minutes, Mathias Rocha mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Engenho LD and the Flamengo Itumbiara E.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. 7 minutes into the match, Engenho LD's goal looked a bit too open when Durvalino Mendes came free, but Jarbas de Alcântara reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 9th minute, Durvalino Mendes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Flamengo Itumbiara E.C. booed when Engenho LD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dinei Pombal didn't get a good kick on the ball. 14 minutes into the match, Engenho LD's goal looked a bit too open when Durvalino Mendes came free, but Jarbas de Alcântara reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Durvalino Mendes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Sandro Faria during the 19th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. When Flamengo Itumbiara E.C.'s Durvalino Mendes in the 26th minute got a chance for a shot 26th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Engenho LD's goalie prevented a goal. Jarbas de Alcântara made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zé Augusto Urbano in the 27th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Engenho LD's Franklin Lira got a free kick in the 27th minute. Durvalino Mendes was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 29th minute. Flamengo Itumbiara E.C.'s manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Durvalino Mendes might have been able to make a better finish in the 33rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jarbas de Alcântara. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Durvalino Mendes ran back to his position shaking his head. Joélson Andrade stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sandro Faria's shot from short distance in the 35th minute.

Jarbas de Alcântara showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Durvalino Mendes, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. Sandro Faria fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joélson Andrade having to interfere. Jarbas de Alcântara came out of the goal in the 56th minute to try and stop a shot by Flamengo Itumbiara E.C.'s Durvalino Mendes. But to his dismay, Durvalino Mendes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. If Zé Augusto Urbano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 63rd match minute, Flamengo Itumbiara E.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kléberson Bezerra to maneuver through the defense. Flamengo Itumbiara E.C.'s Joélson Andrade played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sandro Faria in the 67th minute of play. Durvalino Mendes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 70th minute, Zé Augusto Urbano managed to get in a good position for a shot. Flamengo Itumbiara E.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Zé Augusto Urbano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jarbas de Alcântara breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 77 minutes into the match, Flamengo Itumbiara E.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Mathias Rocha came free, but Joélson Andrade reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jarbas de Alcântara took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Durvalino Mendes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Joélson Andrade came out of the goal in the 88th minute to try and stop a shot by Engenho LD's Sérgio Campidelis. But to his dismay, Sérgio Campidelis quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. If Durvalino Mendes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Engenho LD's zone, Durvalino Mendes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jarbas de Alcântara came out of the goal and Durvalino Mendes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
