In the 69th minute, Freire's Enéas Sousa ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Simão Medeiros. Simão Medeiros yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-6. 74 minutes into the match, Samuca Quirino had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cristiano Alvarenga. Freire's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Samuca Quirino was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-6. Cristiano Alvarenga showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fabricio Lucian, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. With a little luck, A.C.R Fluminense's Simão Medeiros got control of the ball when Enéas Sousa tried to sneak it across the goal line. Enéas Sousa hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. 84 minutes into the game, one of Freire:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Simão Medeiros made an important save on a dangerous shot by Enéas Sousa in the 97th minute. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Freire eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
