Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Erik Pitta yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. 12 minutes into the match, Caroa's goal looked a bit too open when Adrianinho Lira came free, but Erik Pitta reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Caroa's Erik Pitta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zeca Paes in the 16th minute of play. Erik Pitta was out of position in the 17 minute of play, and Adrianinho Lira capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Adrianinho Lira really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. Alex Gaspar came free with the goalkeeper in the 31st minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Erik Pitta could save by the left post. In the 32nd minute, Felipe Penha hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adrianinho Lira in the 36th minute of play forced Caroa's goalkeeper Erik Pitta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alex Gaspar could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 38th minute of the match, but Erik Pitta made a huge save. After some careless play in the Caroa defense, Zeca Paes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Erik Pitta. The Caroa fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Erik Pitta should have stopped the shot. Erik Pitta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alex Gaspar, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. Felipe Penha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 46 played minutes Caroa got a freekick which was hit by Hortêncio Ortiz. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Adrianinho Lira made a kick off. In the 53rd match minute, Caroa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hortêncio Ortiz to maneuver through the defense. Romeu Mandrak recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Durvalino Paraíba breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
