Zambianco FC were awarded a corner in the 17th minute after Baluarte's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Joélson Fantini took the corner. The corner ended in Joélson Fantini almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Baluarte's Maurinho Corrêa did a great save. João Adolfo Damião scored 0-2 in the 20th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Maurinho Corrêa, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 23rd minute, Joaquim de Queiroz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If João Adolfo Damião had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Maurinho Corrêa came out of the goal in the 26th minute to try and stop a shot by Zambianco FC's João Adolfo Damião. After a defensive mix-up in Baluarte's zone, João Adolfo Damião stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Maurinho Corrêa came out of the goal and João Adolfo Damião tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Roger de Andrade received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Maurinho Corrêa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. João Adolfo Damião blasted a shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Maurinho Corrêa having to make a save. When Walmyr do Nascimento came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Zambianco FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Walmyr do Nascimento couldn't finish the play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Pedro Luiz Silva to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute, Tiago Gabriel de Toledo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 56 minutes of play, Zambianco FC's Roger de Andrade made it 0-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net.
