Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Bernardo Urbano started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. In the 4th minute of the match Varginha got a corner. Marinho SS's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Luís Paulo Neiva ran over to the corner to take the kick. Manoel Bastos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Erasmo Aparecido in the 6th minute of play. In the 10thth minute of the game Durval de Carvalho who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Varginha's Nilton da Rocha was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Geovânio Paranaense got free with Manoel Bastos in the 11th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Manoel Bastos made a fantastic save in the 12th minute, when Geovânio Paranaense sent off a good shot on target. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 17th minute of the game. One of Marinho SS:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Varginha:s goal. The referee gave Varginha a penalty, 19 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Luís Paulo Neiva, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Marinho SS's Manoel Bastos. 1-0. Erasmo Aparecido sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 30th minute, Jaime Dias hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Donato Pitta took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 31st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Nilton da Rocha. Varginha's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Geovânio Paranaense received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Manoel Bastos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Geovânio Paranaense fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Manoel Bastos having to interfere. Bernardo Urbano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jaime Dias hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. 45 minutes into the match, Varginha's goal looked a bit too open when Durval de Carvalho came free, but Nilton da Rocha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Manoel Bastos was out of position in the 48 minute of play, and Erasmo Aparecido capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Erasmo Aparecido really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

Durval de Carvalho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marcelo de Toledo kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. 67 minutes had been played when some careless play by Marinho SS's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Luís Paulo Neiva was slow to take the kick. During this time Varginha's players had a chance to rest. At last the ball reached Erasmo Aparecido at the corner, ending with a kick to difficult to stop for the goalkeeper of Marinho SS. 3-0. After 71 played minutes Varginha got a freekick which was hit by Luís Paulo Neiva. Vinícius Neiva kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. Geovânio Paranaense fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Manoel Bastos having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 87 minutes, Geovânio Paranaense put it in 4-0 from a short distance just to the right of Manoel Bastos. Nilton da Rocha made a fantastic save in the 92nd minute, when Durval de Carvalho sent off a good shot on target. Geovânio Paranaense received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Manoel Bastos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Geovânio Paranaense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 98th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Varginha's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
