After a defensive mix-up in Olivenca AD's zone, Christiano Toscano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hernani Queiroz came out of the goal and Christiano Toscano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Adilson Eger came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Flamengo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Adilson Eger couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Olivenca AD booed when Flamengo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valdomiro Corrêa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fabrício Ortiz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Vinícius Tande in the 39th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Adilson Eger in the 46th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hernani Queiroz saved Olivenca AD from getting behind. 49 minutes into the game, Adilson Eger cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Hernani Queiroz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After the first half Flamengo were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Erivaldo Arantes made a kick off. The score was 0-2 after a penalty in the 64th minute, where Flamengo:s Zé Augusto de Salles tricked Olivenca AD:s Hernani Queiroz with a difficult ball by the left post. Adilson Eger sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Hernani Queiroz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adilson Eger, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fabrício Ortiz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Erivaldo Arantes in the 78th minute of the match. Hernani Queiroz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Christiano Toscano in the 79th minute. Renan Quirino recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute.
