In the 3rd minute, one of Tabajara FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Tabajara FC. The referee gave Rosaria a penalty, 6 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Rodolfo Paraibano, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Tabajara FC's Elano Félix. 0-1. The attack was good, but when Cafu Barbosa in the 12th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Rafael Coelho kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. Gildo Peixoto's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tião Simões read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 22nd minute of play. Elano Félix showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Enéas Bezerra in the 26th minute of the match. Cafu Barbosa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elano Félix having to interfere. Enéas Bezerra took the ball and in the 36 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Elano Félix. Elano Félix dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Rosaria's Enéas Bezerra got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gildo Peixoto hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. In the 44th minute of the match Rosaria got a corner. Tabajara FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Rodolfo Paraibano ran over to the corner to take the kick. Enéas Bezerra received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Elano Félix tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Víktor da Costa stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 58th minute the ball was on its way in behind Tabajara FC's goalkeeper Elano Félix, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 60 minutes into the match, Tabajara FC's goal looked a bit too open when Cafu Barbosa came free, but Elano Félix reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rosaria's Cafu Barbosa got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Vitinho Lira kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. Víktor da Costa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Tião Simões tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the Rosaria defense, Víktor da Costa kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tião Simões. The Rosaria fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tião Simões should have stopped the shot. 79 minutes into the match, Enéas Bezerra had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Elano Félix. Tabajara FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Enéas Bezerra was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-4. Víktor da Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tião Simões having to interfere. Jonathan Queirós hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. Elano Félix was out of position in the 88 minute of play, and Cafu Barbosa capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Cafu Barbosa really showed his touch with that goal: 1-5. Rosaria's Tião Simões played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Víktor da Costa in the 95th minute of play. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Rosaria had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
