Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Luís Fábio Cavalcante kicked off to start the match. After having played for 2 minutes, Ciro Rezende managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Monlevade SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ciro Rezende was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Tabajara FC's zone, Ciro Rezende stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Elano Félix came out of the goal and Ciro Rezende tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Luciano Linares's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Elano Félix read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 16th minute of play. In the 17th match minute, Tabajara FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luís Fábio Cavalcante to maneuver through the defense. Luciano Linares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Elano Félix tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 22 minutes, Anderson Lucas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Monlevade SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Anderson Lucas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Ciro Rezende came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Monlevade SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ciro Rezende couldn't finish the play. In the 27th minute, Hílton Donatello got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Elano Félix showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ciro Rezende, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. If Ciro Rezende had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 40th minute, Ciro Rezende got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 41 minutes into the match, Tabajara FC's goal looked a bit too open when Luciano Linares came free, but Elano Félix reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luciano Linares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Elano Félix tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the Tabajara FC defense, Luciano Linares kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Elano Félix. The Tabajara FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Elano Félix should have stopped the shot. Elano Félix stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luciano Linares's shot from short distance in the 61st minute. In the 62nd minute Ciro Rezende shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elano Félix saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Luciano Linares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dário Severo kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. In the 67th minute, Luciano Linares got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Víktor da Costa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Monlevade SC's Carlos Alberto Santos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luís Fábio Cavalcante in the 75th minute of play. Hílton Donatello kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. Carlos Alberto Santos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luís Fábio Cavalcante, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Luciano Linares's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Elano Félix was relentless in the 80th minute of the game. When Monlevade SC's Luciano Linares, in the 82nd minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Monlevade SC. Tabajara FC's Víktor da Costa got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Ciro Rezende managed to get in a good position for a shot. Monlevade SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Ciro Rezende was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Elano Félix breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Luciano Linares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Elano Félix tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
