Elano Félix came out of the goal in the 6th minute to try and stop a shot by Monlevade SC's Luciano Linares. But to his dismay, Luciano Linares quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. If Luciano Linares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tabajara FC's Elano Félix played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ciro Rezende in the 15th minute of play. Víktor da Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Alberto Santos having to interfere. Luciano Linares's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Elano Félix read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 35th minute of play. When Monlevade SC's Ciro Rezende in the 39th minute got a chance for a shot 39th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Tabajara FC's goalie prevented a goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Luís Fábio Cavalcante made a kick off. Víktor da Costa struck a weak shot in the 54th minute. Carlos Alberto Santos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tabajara FC. Luciano Linares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elano Félix having to interfere. Elano Félix showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anderson Lucas in the 67th minute of the match. Carlos Alberto Santos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luís Fábio Cavalcante in the 68th minute of play. After 70 played minutes, Tabajara FC's Renato Loyola shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Carlos Alberto Santos came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Tabajara FC reached it. When Tabajara FC's Víktor da Costa in the 77th minute got a chance for a shot 77th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Monlevade SC's goalie prevented a goal. Luciano Linares recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With splendid footwork Luciano Linares arrived in front of goal to shoot 0-5 by the left pole in the game's 80th minute. Ciro Rezende scored 0-6 in the 85th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Elano Félix, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Anderson Lucas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elano Félix having to interfere. Elano Félix took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luciano Linares, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Ciro Rezende came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Monlevade SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ciro Rezende couldn't finish the play. Elano Félix took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luciano Linares, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Tabajara FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Monlevade SC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
