But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jano Leme couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Abdulhamit İkbal in the 39th minute of play forced Rotulo EC's goalkeeper Alexandre Velasco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpected shot in the 42nd minute by Laércio Paranaense got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The Alexandre Velasco was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Guata's Rafinha Campidelis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Giovani Coelho in the 56th minute of play. A collision led to Guata getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Fernão Furtado hit a great ball. After 61 played minutes Rotulo EC got a freekick which was hit by Breno Abraão. After 71 minutes, Giovani Coelho mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Rotulo EC and the Guata players grew even worse after the yellow card.
