Zé Braga blasted a shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Nilson Corrêa having to make a save. In the 8th minute, Fausto Trancoso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The Curimatau SC fans' excitement grew in the 14th match minute when Curimatau SC's Bernardo Barbosa looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After some careless play in the Curimatau SC defense, Luisinho Cardoso kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nilson Corrêa. The Curimatau SC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nilson Corrêa should have stopped the shot. When Luisinho Cardoso came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the Magno fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luisinho Cardoso couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Curimatau SC getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Fausto Trancoso hit a great ball. Bernardo Barbosa in the 32ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Gualter Teixeira, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Zé Furtado, 36 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Wilton de Mendonça sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 41st minute, Luisinho Cardoso got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 42 minutes, Wilton de Mendonça managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Magno's supporters crossed their fingers, but Wilton de Mendonça was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gualter Teixeira stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bernardo Barbosa's shot from short distance in the 46th minute. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Bernardo Barbosa made the kick off in the second half. Vitinho Maia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Gualter Teixeira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Magno's zone, Fausto Trancoso stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gualter Teixeira came out of the goal and Fausto Trancoso tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 60th minute, Bernardo Barbosa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Curimatau SC's Bernardo Barbosa in the 61st minute got a chance for a shot 61st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Fausto Trancoso hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. Luisinho Cardoso charged in rather forcefully in the 72nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Luisinho Cardoso the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Magno booed when Curimatau SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luiz Fabiano da Mata didn't get a good kick on the ball. A hard shot by Vânderson Cosme from long distance, 78 minutes into the match, got Nilson Corrêa's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Fausto Trancoso hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. Gualter Teixeira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bernardo Barbosa, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. After having played for 87 minutes, Wilton de Mendonça managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Magno's supporters crossed their fingers, but Wilton de Mendonça was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Curimatau SC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. The Curimatau SC support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
