Rodolfo Pitta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Marcus Dracena tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 13 played minutes Toheroa SS got a freekick which was hit by Lucas Passos. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Virgílio Peres in the 17th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Giovani Furtado prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a defensive mix-up in Verneque's zone, Júnior Prestes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Giovani Furtado came out of the goal and Júnior Prestes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Virgílio Peres had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Júnior Prestes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Giovani Furtado having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Ramón Senna managed to get in a good position for a shot. Verneque's supporters rose to their feet, but Ramón Senna was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marcus Dracena breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 34 minutes into the match, Virgílio Peres had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Giovani Furtado. Verneque's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Virgílio Peres was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. In the 37th minute, Virgílio Peres got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 39thth minute of the game Virgílio Peres who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Verneque's Giovani Furtado was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Virgílio Peres came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the Toheroa SS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Virgílio Peres couldn't finish the play. Virgílio Peres struck a weak shot in the 42nd minute. Giovani Furtado didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Toheroa SS. Virgílio Peres scored 0-2 in the 44th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Giovani Furtado, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Júnior Prestes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Giovani Furtado having to interfere. After the first half Toheroa SS were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ramón Senna was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Virgílio Peres got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Virgílio Peres had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Júnior Prestes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Giovani Furtado made an important save on a dangerous shot by Júnior Prestes in the 61st minute. After a defensive mix-up in Verneque's zone, Júnior Prestes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Giovani Furtado came out of the goal and Júnior Prestes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the match had gone on for 69 minutes, Júnior Prestes put it in 0-4 from a short distance just to the right of Giovani Furtado. Virgílio Peres recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Virgílio Peres had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Virgílio Peres in the 81st minute of play forced Verneque's goalkeeper Giovani Furtado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Júnior Prestes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rodolfo Pitta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marcus Dracena showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ramón Senna in the 85th minute of the match. Verneque's Giovani Furtado proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 88th minute of the match, managed to save Verneque from getting a goal against them. Verneque's Giovani Furtado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Virgílio Peres in the 90th minute of play. When Júnior Prestes came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Toheroa SS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Júnior Prestes couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Toheroa SS booed when Verneque was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ramón Senna didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the final whistle sounded Toheroa SS left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Verneque.
