The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Alfredão Paraíba showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zacarias Rocha, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. After some careless play in the Luzia EC defense, Elliott Hamberg kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Alfredão Paraíba. The Luzia EC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Alfredão Paraíba should have stopped the shot. Yan Netto's late challenge caught a E.C. Vive Castanheira's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Yan Netto helped the player get up and apologised. In the 10th minute, Yan Netto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Alfredão Paraíba acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 16th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Alberto Gonçalves. Zacarias Rocha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Alfredão Paraíba tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Zacarias Rocha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 26 minutes into the match, Luzia EC's goal looked a bit too open when Telmo de Godoy came free, but Alfredão Paraíba reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Zacarias Rocha managed to get in a good position for a shot. E.C. Vive Castanheira's supporters rose to their feet, but Zacarias Rocha was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alfredão Paraíba breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Elliott Hamberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfredão Paraíba having to interfere. With a little luck, Luzia EC's Alfredão Paraíba got control of the ball when Enrique Cavalcante tried to sneak it across the goal line. Elliott Hamberg could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 40th minute of the match, but Alfredão Paraíba made a huge save. Elliott Hamberg who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 43rdth minute tested the skills of Alfredão Paraíba when he managed to save the team from getting behind. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Zacarias Rocha struck a weak shot in the 58th minute. Alfredão Paraíba didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for E.C. Vive Castanheira. Jefferson Rosado hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. Zacarias Rocha recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, E.C. Vive Castanheira's Telmo de Godoy got a free kick in the 67th minute. In the 70th minute Enrique Cavalcante shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alfredão Paraíba saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Luzia EC's zone, Zacarias Rocha stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alfredão Paraíba came out of the goal and Zacarias Rocha tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Zacarias Rocha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Alfredão Paraíba tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alfredão Paraíba showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Telmo de Godoy in the 82nd minute of the match. Alfredão Paraíba didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Reginaldo de Andrade went, in the 84th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. When Enrique Cavalcante came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the E.C. Vive Castanheira fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Enrique Cavalcante couldn't finish the play. E.C. Vive Castanheira walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
