The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Nilton Zonta showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Enrique Cavalcante in the 3rd minute of the match. Elliott Hamberg struck a weak shot in the 5th minute. Nilton Zonta didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for E.C. Vive Castanheira. 9 minutes into the match, E.C. Vive Castanheira's goal looked a bit too open when Róbson Xavier came free, but Svenn Myhrvold reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Telmo de Godoy charged in rather forcefully in the 9th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Telmo de Godoy the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, E.C. Vive Castanheira's Telmo de Godoy got a free kick in the 10th minute. Gualter Alves hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. Elliott Hamberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Enrique Cavalcante had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 24 minutes into the match, Gurupi AD's goalkeeper Nilton Zonta had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Paulo Tróia. In the 26th minute, Róbson Xavier left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Gurupi AD fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. In the 32nd minute, Zacarias Rocha reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Nilton Zonta. The goal made the score 1-1. Enrique Cavalcante in the 36thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Nilton Zonta, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Lucas Costa kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. Nilton Zonta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zacarias Rocha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Luisão de Mendonça during the 40th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, E.C. Vive Castanheira's Luisão de Mendonça got a free kick in the 40th minute. Svenn Myhrvold didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Didi Quirino went, in the 43rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Róbson Xavier in the 47th minute of play forced E.C. Vive Castanheira's goalkeeper Svenn Myhrvold to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Válbson Prestes got free with Svenn Myhrvold in the 56th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 61 minutes into the match, E.C. Vive Castanheira's goal looked a bit too open when Róbson Xavier came free, but Svenn Myhrvold reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 62nd minute, Gualter Alves made a precise shot to the right of Svenn Myhrvold. E.C. Vive Castanheira's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-3. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Róbson Xavier in the 67th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Svenn Myhrvold saved E.C. Vive Castanheira from getting behind. E.C. Vive Castanheira's Telmo de Godoy got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Enrique Cavalcante received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Nilton Zonta tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Enrique Cavalcante fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nilton Zonta having to interfere. 79 minutes into the match, E.C. Vive Castanheira's goal looked a bit too open when Róbson Xavier came free, but Svenn Myhrvold reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Enrique Cavalcante recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Through an outstanding action, after 82 minutes, Svenn Myhrvold successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After a rather tough play, Gurupi AD's Didi Quirino got a free kick in the 84th minute. Zacarias Rocha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nilton Zonta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Enrique Cavalcante, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. In the 88th minute, Gurupi AD's Róbson Xavier dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-4. The E.C. Vive Castanheira supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Gurupi AD's performance. The match ended with a win for Gurupi AD.
