Palestra Eterno's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jorge Messias was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 5th minute the ball was on its way in behind S. K. APOEMA !'s goalkeeper Gilvan Negri, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 8th match minute, S. K. APOEMA ! was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Celsinho de Godoy to maneuver through the defense. Gilvan Negri didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 9th minute, which inside left pole to 1-0. Gilvan Negri took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Samuel McGhee, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 16 minutes into the match, S. K. Guga de Alcântara hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. 37 minutes into the game, Vito Leão was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. S. K. APOEMA !'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Palestra Eterno the free kick. After a rather tough play, S. K. APOEMA !'s Vito Leão got a free kick in the 37th minute. 41 minutes into the match, S. K. APOEMA !'s goal looked a bit too open when Samuel McGhee came free, but Gilvan Negri reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Palestra Eterno's Samuel McGhee slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Gilvan Negri. That made the score 3-0 after 45 minutes of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Samuel McGhee stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to S. K. APOEMA ! getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Rubens de Andrade hit a great ball. Jorge Messias might have been able to make a better finish in the 54th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gilvan Negri. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jorge Messias ran back to his position shaking his head. If Samuel McGhee had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 58 minutes of play, Palestra Eterno's Samuel McGhee made it 4-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gilvan Negri was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by Samuel McGhee in the 63rd minute of play forced S. K. APOEMA !'s goalkeeper Gilvan Negri to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fred Melo charged in rather forcefully in the 67th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Fred Melo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Palestra Eterno's Agostinho Carvalho got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 72 minutes, Samuel McGhee made it 5-0 with a short kick to the right side. S. K. APOEMA !'s Gilvan Negri tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 78th minute, Samuel McGhee managed to get in a good position for a shot. Palestra Eterno's supporters rose to their feet, but Samuel McGhee was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gilvan Negri breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 88 minutes of play, Palestra Eterno's Samuel McGhee made it 6-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gilvan Negri was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 92nd match minute, S. K. APOEMA ! was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Celsinho de Godoy to maneuver through the defense. Vito Leão fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aníbal Galvão having to interfere. Palestra Eterno walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
