When the match clock showed 4 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Amílton Passos sped through Sobradinho's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Murilo Maciel. Dedê Arósio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Murilo Maciel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Armando Brasil had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Sobradinho's zone, Dedê Arósio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Murilo Maciel came out of the goal and Dedê Arósio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 18 minutes, Amílton Passos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Olimpia AD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Amílton Passos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Armando Brasil hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Amílton Passos in the 20th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Murilo Maciel prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the match clock showed 24 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Carlos Senna sped through Sobradinho's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Murilo Maciel. After 27 played minutes Sobradinho got a freekick which was hit by Gino Macedo. Amílton Passos succeeded in the game's 30th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-3. If Amílton Passos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Amílton Passos came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Olimpia AD fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Amílton Passos couldn't finish the play. Amílton Passos struck a weak shot in the 39th minute. Murilo Maciel didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Olimpia AD. Gino Macedo kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Carlinhos Ortiz to strike the kick off in the second half. After 53 played minutes Sobradinho got a freekick which was hit by Antônio Carlos Freitas. If Dedê Arósio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Amílton Passos in the 58th minute of play forced Sobradinho's goalkeeper Murilo Maciel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sobradinho's defense didn't have a chance, in the 61st minute, when Amílton Passos scored to the left of an out of position Murilo Maciel, making the score, 0-4. After some careless play in the Sobradinho defense, Dedê Arósio kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Murilo Maciel. The Sobradinho fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Murilo Maciel should have stopped the shot. After 70 played minutes, Olimpia AD's Duda Brasil shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Murilo Maciel came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Olimpia AD reached it. With his leg Murilo Maciel managed to avoid a goal in the 75thth minute, when Olimpia AD's Dedê Arósio fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Wiliam Amaral hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. Dedê Arósio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Murilo Maciel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Amílton Passos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 86 minutes into the game, Raí Proença was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Olimpia AD's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sobradinho the free kick. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 86th minute of the game. One of Olimpia AD:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Sobradinho:s goal. In the 89th minute there was a penalty for Sobradinho. Vivaldo Nóbrega stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Túlio Prestes. 1-5. Dedê Arósio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Murilo Maciel having to interfere. Olimpia AD's Túlio Prestes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlinhos Ortiz in the 100th minute of play. Olimpia AD played a much better game than Sobradinho and deserved their victory. The Sobradinho players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
