Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) A collision led to Valparaiso getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Iwo Kochanowski hit a great ball. César Domingues came out of the goal in the 13th minute to try and stop a shot by Valparaiso's Cyryl Olchowy. But to his dismay, Cyryl Olchowy quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Cyryl Olchowy hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. Elias Guerra made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcelo Galvão in the 21st minute of play. When Américo Tasso came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Valparaiso fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Américo Tasso couldn't finish the play. Américo Tasso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 37th minute, Cyryl Olchowy got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Nuno Amorim had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Américo Tasso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without César Domingues having to interfere. Cyryl Olchowy received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. César Domingues tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cyryl Olchowy recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 48th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Nuno Amorim to strike the kick off in the second half. After 55 played minutes Caranahyba got a freekick which was hit by João Francisco Pinho. Américo Tasso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 75th minute, Américo Tasso ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. César Domingues was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. If Nuno Amorim had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 81 minutes into the match, Emerson Mendonça notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of Valparaiso's Elias Guerra. Elias Guerra was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Marcelo Galvão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 97th minute, Marcelo Galvão managed to get in a good position for a shot. Caranahyba's supporters rose to their feet, but Marcelo Galvão was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Elias Guerra breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the match was over Valparaiso could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Caranahyba throughout the match.
