After the first half Gil AD were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

53 minutes into the match, Patundova SC's goalkeeper Benê Mumbach had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nelsinho França. Anísio da Costa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 66 minutes into the match, Nelsinho França had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Benê Mumbach. Patundova SC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nelsinho França was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nelsinho França got free with Benê Mumbach in the 72nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After having played for 76 minutes, Tadeu Monteiro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Patundova SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tadeu Monteiro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The goalkeeper, Benê Mumbach, was totally fooled by Gil AD's Danilo Domingues, who 98 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Gil AD's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
