The supporters of Alvino booed when Abico was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joaquim Melo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Adrianinho Terra took the ball and in the 14 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jeremias Barreto. José Nogueira hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. In the 35th match minute, Alvino was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Augusto de Godoi to maneuver through the defense. Alvino's Augusto de Godoi got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Augusto de Godoi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Jeremias Barreto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Abico players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. The wind increased when Délio Alcântara made the kick off in the second half. When Augusto de Godoi came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Alvino fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Augusto de Godoi couldn't finish the play. 54 minutes into the game, Egídio Arruda was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Abico's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Alvino the free kick. In the 84th minute, Haroldo Cavalcante hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jeremias Barreto made an important save on a dangerous shot by Augusto de Godoi in the 85th minute. Alvino's Adrianinho Terra got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Abico's Jeremias Barreto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adrianinho Terra in the 88th minute of play. When José Nogueira was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 93 minutes had been played. After a rather tough play, Alvino's José Nogueira got a free kick in the 93rd minute. Augusto de Godoi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alvino's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Abico had won, even though Alvino had held more of the ball.
