The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute, Robinho de Medeiros hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luciano Guerra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gerson Secco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Délio Alcântara, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 8th minute, Dudu da Rocha sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Abico's Jeremias Barreto didn't even have to move. Jeremias Barreto made an important save on a dangerous shot by Júlio de Almeida in the 15th minute. Mateus Silva kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. After 19 played minutes, Abico's Arí Marinho shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Gerson Secco came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Abico reached it. After a defensive mix-up in Quimera V.T's zone, Luciano Guerra stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gerson Secco came out of the goal and Luciano Guerra tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Luciano Guerra fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gerson Secco having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Quimera V.T's Mateus Favoretto got a free kick in the 24th minute. Haroldo Cavalcante fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gerson Secco having to interfere. Luciano Guerra received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Gerson Secco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Paulo José Fantini to make the kick off. Abico's Délio Alcântara got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Paulo José Fantini in the 70th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jeremias Barreto prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 72nd match minute, Abico was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arí Marinho to maneuver through the defense. Luciano Guerra recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Quimera V.T's zone, Egídio Arruda stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gerson Secco came out of the goal and Egídio Arruda tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Délio Alcântara received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Gerson Secco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Luciano Guerra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luciano Guerra who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 95thth minute tested the skills of Gerson Secco when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Robinho de Medeiros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jeremias Barreto having to interfere. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Abico players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
