An unexpectedly hard shot by Erivaldo Britto in the 17th minute of play forced Mucuna AD's goalkeeper João Adolfo Cordeiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Mucuna AD's Ciro das Neves slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Alexandre Mineiro. That made the score 2-0 after 21 minutes of play. Felipe da Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alexandre Mineiro having to interfere. Afonso Couto kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. In the 33rd match minute, Morao was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tião Sampaio to maneuver through the defense. In the 37th minute Edson de Medeiros shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but João Adolfo Cordeiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Francisco Motta hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. After recieving a nice pass, Mucuna AD's Ricardo Tepedino tried to score from far away in the 45th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Humberto Vidal recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 48th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ciro das Neves to make the kick off. Ciro das Neves blasted a shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Alexandre Mineiro having to make a save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Edson de Medeiros got free with João Adolfo Cordeiro in the 69th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Zé Roberto Cunha hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. Ramiro Travassos hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. Morao's Alexandre Mineiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Felipe da Costa in the 74th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Felipe da Costa during the 80th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Mucuna AD getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Felipe da Costa hit a great ball. In the 82nd minute, Felipe da Costa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 86 minutes into the match, Mucuna AD's Ciro das Neves sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Alexandre Mineiro narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felipe da Costa in the 89th minute of play forced Morao's goalkeeper Alexandre Mineiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. João Adolfo Cordeiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Erivaldo Britto in the 97th minute of play.
