Eurico Quadros showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. In the 38th minute, Norberto Duarte got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Eurico Quadros struck a weak shot in the 40th minute. Hortêncio Tepedino didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Walter´S FC. Norberto Duarte recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Edmundo Gomes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Norberto Duarte in the 47th minute of play. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Valdomiro Vidal to strike the kick off in the second half. Norberto Duarte sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Walter´S FC's Benedito Paraíba suffered a sore thigh after 71 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Doriva Furtado charged in rather forcefully in the 71st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Doriva Furtado the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Walter´S FC's Raí Leão got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Hortêncio Tepedino showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Raí Leão in the 76th minute of the match. If Norberto Duarte had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Luisinho Santana fell near the penalty area in the 84th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Walter´S FC's protests and gave Luisinho Santana a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Walter´S FC's Luisinho Santana got a free kick in the 84th minute. In the 88th match minute, Walter´S FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mateus Pirani to maneuver through the defense. Norberto Duarte's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Edmundo Gomes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 91st minute of play. For all the effort they put into the match, the Itaja Esporte Clube players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Walter´S FC.
