In the 37th minute the ball was on its way in behind Guaibim's goalkeeper Yan Baiano, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 45th match minute, Itaja Esporte Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Paulinho Domingues to maneuver through the defense. Michel Freire took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 46th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Hortêncio Tepedino. Itaja Esporte Clube's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Hortêncio Tepedino showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pedro Luiz Braga, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Valdomiro Vidal was the one to do the kick off. Guaibim's Yan Baiano proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to save Guaibim from getting a goal against them. 56 minutes into the match, Guaibim's goalkeeper Yan Baiano had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Norberto Duarte. Norberto Duarte fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Yan Baiano having to interfere. In the 62nd minute, Valdomiro Vidal got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Guaibim's Yan Baiano proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 64th minute of the match, managed to save Guaibim from getting a goal against them. Norberto Duarte came free with the goalkeeper in the 66th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Yan Baiano could save by the left post. In the 75th minute, Doriva Furtado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Guaibim's Michel Freire couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 76th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Itaja Esporte Clube. After some careless play in the Itaja Esporte Clube defense, Pedro Luiz Braga kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Hortêncio Tepedino. The Itaja Esporte Clube fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hortêncio Tepedino should have stopped the shot. In the 83rd minute Guaibim were awarded a corner. Michel Freire went to the cornerflag to take it. Michel Freire made a great header on Guaibim's corner, it was just that Itaja Esporte Clube's Hortêncio Tepedino managed to reach the ball for a save. The supporters of Itaja Esporte Clube booed when Guaibim was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Maurinho Nogueira didn't get a good kick on the ball. 88 minutes into the match, Guaibim's goalkeeper Yan Baiano had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Norberto Duarte.
