After 10 minutes of play, Manguaça's Edgard Mattos made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Diogo Moreno was left in no man's land by his defense there! Diogo Moreno showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edgard Mattos, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. Diogo Moreno made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luiz Fernando Dionísio in the 17th minute of play. Sociedade Galzerano F. C.'s Diogo Moreno played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paulo Renato Baiano in the 18th minute of play. In the 20th minute, Paulo Renato Baiano left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Manguaça fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Sidnei Braga came out of the goal in the 27th minute to try and stop a shot by Sociedade Galzerano F. C.'s Enéas Neiva. But to his dismay, Enéas Neiva quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Baltazar Garcia charged in rather forcefully in the 48th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Enéas Neiva to make the kick off.
