Valdemar Almeida showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gualter Botelho, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Wilson Palmeira kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. When Ulisses Félix fell near the penalty area in the 30th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Betim Saint Italian's protests and gave Ulisses Félix a yellow card for diving instead. If Cássio Hoffmann had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Betim Saint Italian's Frederico Montenegro got a free kick in the 33rd minute. With his leg Carlos Augusto Meira managed to avoid a goal in the 36thth minute, when Silver Star's Betão de Azevedo fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Cássio Hoffmann recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ulisses Félix fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valdemar Almeida having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Gualter Botelho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Betim Saint Italian's supporters rose to their feet, but Gualter Botelho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Valdemar Almeida breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ulisses Félix's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Valdemar Almeida read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 48th minute of play. The Silver Star players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Betim Saint Italian were winning 0-1.

The wind increased when Cássio Hoffmann made the kick off in the second half. Gualter Botelho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valdemar Almeida having to interfere. Silver Star's Valdemar Almeida played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gualter Botelho in the 57th minute of play. 61 minutes into the match, Silver Star's goalkeeper Valdemar Almeida had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ulisses Félix. Gualter Botelho received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Valdemar Almeida came out and tried to block the shot, but Gualter Botelho slotted it home off the left post making it 0-2 in the 62nd minute. Valdomiro de Lara hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. Betão de Azevedo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
