The referee ignored Guaibim's protests and gave Alfredo Gonçalves a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Guaibim getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Alfredo Gonçalves hit a great ball. In the 45th match minute, Guaibim was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arnaldo Zonta to maneuver through the defense. Guaibim's Yan Baiano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edgard Mattos in the 46th minute of play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Edgard Mattos was the one to do the kick off. Guaibim's Alfredo Gonçalves got his second yellow card of the match in the 51st minute. The referee ordered Alfredo Gonçalves off the ground. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Afonsinho Medeiros helped the player get up and apologised. The Manguaça players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
