After having played for 28 minutes, Gualter Botelho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Betim Saint Italian's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gualter Botelho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Betim Saint Italian's Valdomiro de Lara got a free kick in the 40th minute. Frederico Montenegro scored 0-2 in the 47th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sidnei Braga, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After the first half Betim Saint Italian were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Gualter Botelho struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Sidnei Braga didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Betim Saint Italian. If Gualter Botelho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Carlos Augusto Meira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luiz Fernando Dionísio in the 76th minute of the match. In the 78thth minute of the game Edgard Mattos who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Betim Saint Italian's Carlos Augusto Meira was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Gualter Botelho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sidnei Braga having to interfere. If Gualter Botelho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A hard shot 88 in the game by Ulisses Félix from a close distance when the talented Sidnei Braga managed to make a qualified save. Manguaça's players were relieved. Carlos Augusto Meira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edgard Mattos in the 92nd minute of play. If Ulisses Félix had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 96th minute, Ulisses Félix got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The Manguaça fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Betim Saint Italian were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
