Spectators: 7335 (Terracing: 5503, Seating: 1687, VIP seats: 145) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Dorival Peres started the match with the kick off. Duarte Quirino blasted a shot towards the goal in the 2nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Chico de Barros having to make a save. In the 9th minute, Duarte Quirino made a precise shot to the right of Chico de Barros. Steel Fox's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, Duarte Quirino managed to get in a good position for a shot. Canelas FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Duarte Quirino was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Chico de Barros breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Chico de Barros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dorival Peres in the 18th minute of play. Dorival Peres took the ball and in the 26 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Chico de Barros. Chico de Barros dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. In the 29th minute, André Luiz Leão hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dito Mendonça kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. The supporters of Canelas FC booed when Steel Fox was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ademir Lopes didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 40th match minute, Steel Fox was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wilson Mangueira to maneuver through the defense. Wilson Mangueira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Dito Mendonça had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Duarte Quirino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Wilson Mangueira to strike the kick off in the second half. Dorival Peres could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 57th minute of the match, but Chico de Barros made a huge save. Chico de Barros showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Duarte Quirino in the 58th minute of the match. A collision led to Steel Fox getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Jeremias de Queiroz hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Duarte Quirino in the 63rd minute of play forced Steel Fox's goalkeeper Chico de Barros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Duarte Quirino kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Chico de Barros. That made the score 0-3 in the 63 minute of play. 70 minutes had been played when some careless play by Steel Fox's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Duarte Quirino was slow to take the kick. During this time Canelas FC's players had a chance to rest. A well-hit corner resulted in Hélder Andrade heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Dorival Peres received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Chico de Barros tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 77 minutes, Hermínio Vidal mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Steel Fox and the Canelas FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 78th match minute, Steel Fox was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hermínio Vidal to maneuver through the defense. Jeremias de Queiroz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Chico de Barros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Duarte Quirino in the 90th minute of play. In the 91st match minute, Canelas FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pedro Luís Toscano to maneuver through the defense.
