Jeremias de Queiroz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jarbas Furlan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wilson Mangueira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, S.C. Corinthians Paulista's Joaquim Coelho got a free kick in the 56th minute. Lúcio Lopez, 57 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. In the 62nd minute, Wilson Mangueira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 65 minutes into the game, Tiago Gabriel Oliveira was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. S.C. Corinthians Paulista's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Steel Fox the free kick. A collision led to S.C. With an all-out effort, Steel Fox's Jarbas Furlan threw himself towards the right post 82 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Wilson Mangueira, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Jarbas Furlan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wilson Mangueira, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. Jarbas Furlan stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Wilson Mangueira's shot from short distance in the 87th minute. Jorginho de Almeida fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Chico de Barros having to interfere. When Wilson Mangueira came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the Steel Fox fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wilson Mangueira couldn't finish the play. The audience was convinced that Wilson Mangueira's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jarbas Furlan was relentless in the 96th minute of the game.
